Have A Voice In Helping Shape The Future Of Our Region
CommuteInfo is a program of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC), operated in partnership with transportation management associations, transportation providers, businesses and non-profit service organizations throughout Southwestern PA.
One of the many other activities performed by SPC is the coordination of Project Region . Project Region is the mechanism for connecting the region’s vision to an official, coordinated implementation program of projects and actions. The process is led by the SPC in partnership with a wide range of other public, private and non-profit organizations. SPC is mandated by Federal and State government to conduct regional planning for the 10 counties of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Achieving our region’s vision for Southwestern Pennsylvania to be recognized among the best places anywhere to live, work, play and invest depends on continuous attention to strategies that deliver progress.

On July 20th, CommuteInfo staff turned up at the Indiana CareerLink office to offer an in-service training to their staff. The job developers and outreach specialists will be able to help us reach even more of the regional employers and commuters.
July 23rd, CarFree Day was sponsored by Car Free Pittsburgh, for people to come to a family-oriented street fair, via non-car transportation, where the community can celebrate the improved local air quality from reduced emissions and traffic while obtaining information relating to healthy, environmentally-conscious lifestyles and environmental issues. CommuteInfo was there.
July 28th, spoke with job seekers at the Alle-Kiski CareerLink offices. Job seekers often limit their job searches or decline opportunities if they think transportation is a problem. CommuteInfo staff helps the job seekers learn more about what options are available to them so they can accept that job offer.
