We encourage you to perform the following tests before logging in to this or any webcast:
- Go to http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ and test the speed of your connection. For best results, use the “Washington, DC” option if you are in Pittsburgh. Keep in mind that 200 Kbs (either for upload or download) is ultra bottom-end, and even speeds several times greater than that can make for a slow webcast with audio and video problems. To start getting smooth results in a webcast, you want these numbers to be well into the thousands.
- Make sure you have a copy of Adobe Flash Player Flash Viewer 10 installed; no earlier version will work, and depending on how early your version is, you may be blocked from the meeting room without a clear error message to explain why. The link to download the very latest version of Adobe Flash Player is: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. If you are not sure how to check whether you have the latest version of Flash player, go to this website for a quick and easy way to find out: http://duber.com/LetsTalk/playerCheck.html. You can even follow a link to the Adobe download page from that page if you do need the Player.
- Make sure that your monitor resolution is at 800 by 600 or greater, if possible.
- Please use a set of external speakers if at all possible, with the both the software volume and the hardware volume control turned up.
